Taurus Season Started on 4/20 and Other Things That JUST MAKE SENSE - Newsletter #3

Canadian Tulips OOH AHH

Sorry for the delay on this one, poor form, but I was in Canada spending some time with my family (which doesn’t happen often) and shockingly enough we all managed to get through eclipse season without any major blow-ups and yes, it IS now Taurus season and yes, I HAVE been glowing a little extra recently. Taurus season begins every year on 4/20 and as the “food obsessed, hedonistic, slow-moving” sign of the zodiac - doesn’t that just make SENSE? My birthday is racing up and I am extremely excited to turn the highly random age of 23. I’m not into major birthday celebrations but I do love getting the people I love together and any opportunity to TREAT MYSELF. I’m a bit of a year-round “treat yourself” kind of person, but having an excuse to do so, is always fun.

I love looking into other people’s wishlists, so here’s what I want for my birthday (and will likely end up buying for myself shhh)

  • A food processor - not a crazy expensive one, but a starter processor.

  • Some fun little glassware that I don’t need but really want.

  • Alison Roman’s new cookbook (to complete my collection)

  • A Pestle and Mortar (Don’t own one, would like one)

  • The JVN Blowout Styling Milk is SO good, and I just ran out of the one I was using.

  • A New Cardholder/wallet. The one I bought at Forever 21 in 2015 needs to go, and it’s honestly shocking it has lasted this long.

Things that are tickling my fancy

  1. I had a slightly elevated taco night and managed to use my leftovers for a variety of different meals over the next week. Tacos, breakfast tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos, the world was my OYSTER. Being able to mix and match my ingredients, and adding a few bits and bobs was honestly super fun, and all of the combinations ended up being different enough that I didn’t get sick of it! I must say the key to my success was this one mob kitchen recipe for a green tahini slaw, as well as a Mexican street corn situation similar to this one I found on Pinterest. So have yourself a little taco night - and make sure to use up any leftovers!

  2. This is so stupid. I just bought my first big girl electric toothbrush and why didn’t anyone TELL ME HOW BIG THE DIFFERENCE IS? I don’t think my teeth have ever been so clean. I feel so silly for not doing this sooner. It’s even inspired me to floss more. Will the excitement fade? Perhaps. For now, though I will be brushing my teeth more than I probably have to.

What I’m Sipping…

A glass of something COLD on a PATIO in the SUN. Maybe it is the ever so Instagram-famous Chin Chin Vinho Verde. SUE ME. It’s spritzy, it’s fun, it’s energetic, it’s ethically made, and a friend who claimed to “not like wine” had a second glass. Crowd pleaser!
