But what do I know?

I started my adventure - and this food, wine, and lifestyle journey I'm on - in September of 2018 when I moved from Vancouver, Canada to London, UK. Fresh out of high school at the time, and with nothing but hyper-independence by my side, I suddenly became responsible for myself in a city far from home - not necessarily an easy task for someone who was walking chaos for a good chunk of my teenage years. But 5 years later, I'm still here! And I like to think I've even learned a thing or two.

To support myself I worked in restaurants, and became a social media assistant for a restaurant chain in London, before landing a job as a social media manager for a wine and food-focused streaming service. Add to that my recent WSET certifications in wine (Level 2 graduate WITH distinction - thank you very much! And currently a Level 3 student) and you might say I've been learning on the job. But for me, it's much more than a job.

I love writing copy for other people (really! I do!) but I've always craved the opportunity to write in my own voice. So here I am, writing my own opinions about things I love to anyone who wants to listen, and so my own friends don’t have to hear my passionate rants on the same topics for the umpteenth time. As the big sister to three younger brothers, I also write for them (even if they don't read it) and anyone who wants some big sister advice.

While I may joke that I am “always right" I recognize that my opinions and suggestions for living might not fit into everyone’s life - and that is a-ok! I'm simply taking what I know from my lived experience so far, and hope that occasionally it will sit well with a few people. I hope you enjoy!
